She said that for the following 10 years she spent her time working on chores, helping at the farm of her family and helping out at home. She is the older of two older siblings who have been adopted as well as an elder brother Bryner. The family relocated to the United States in Texas when she was 13 witht the exception of two older sisters who remained in the Phillipines. She then joined the United States Navy for many years, and later was stationed in Japan.
